Meet the Shady Oak Staff!
Joyce Trigger founded Shady Oak Christian School in 1987. Her life has been blessed immeasurably by the hundreds of families who have trusted the school in the nurturing, education, and guidance of their children. Joyce graduated from the University of Illinois with a BS in Elementary Education and from the University of Houston with a MS in Curriculum and Instruction. Her passion is Parent Education, understanding fully that parents are the REAL teachers of young children. She and her husband, Tom, have lived in the Pecan Grove Community for almost 30 years! They enjoy being grandparents to Ella, Kate, and Sammy. What a gift to have Ella, age 5, come to Shady Oak in the Bridge class!
Ashley is excited to begin her second year at Shady Oak as the Assistant Director. My favorite part of being at Shady Oak is getting to know each child and their family and seeing children begin to develop into who they were divinely created to be! Ashley is also a Yoga Instructor and enjoys spending time with her husband, Casey; son, Silas; and their dog, Shiloh. In their free time, Ashley's family spends weekends around the fire pit in their backyard, countless hours playing Uno at the dinner table, and as much time as they can at their family's land in the country.
Selena will be starting her 6th year with Shady Oak, this fall. This year will be her second year as lead teacher in Readiness. She is excited to start another great year! Selena and husband, Brandon, have an 8-year-old son, Jaeden, and a 2-year-old daughter, Aubrie. Outside of Shady Oak and being a mom and wife, Selena will be continuing her Education degree. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, shopping, sports, and being outdoors.
Lyndsay is so excited to begin her third year as a Lead teacher. She worked as a teacher in the public school setting before she took time off to spend time and learn from her children. Lyndsay has an Elementary Education degree with a concentration in Psychology from Eastern Illinois University. She is currently working on her Wonder certification. Lyndsay and husband, Richard, have two children, Caden, who will be in 3rd grade and Addison, who will be in 1st grade.
